Building Bridges, the Power of Community Partnerships: The Prostate Health Education Network (PHEN)
Show Overview:
African-American men are disproportionately affected by prostate cancer, with higher incidence and mortality rates compared to other racial groups. Community partnerships can play a vital role in bridging gaps, spreading knowledge, and fostering a culture of early detection and proactive health management. These partnerships are about fostering a supportive environment where African-American men can feel empowered to take charge of their health. This show will take a closer look at a successful program called PHEN which has used trusted community leaders to increase awareness in hopes of improving health outcomes.
